Important: this document is a structural draft prepared for the AfrolandX Rides website. It is not a legally approved document. Every clause, placeholder and reference must be reviewed and finalised by AfrolandX's legal advisors before it is treated as binding.

1. Introduction

These Terms govern your access to and use of the AfrolandX Rides mobile application and associated services (together, the "Service") in Nigeria. The Service is operated by [Insert registered company name] ("AfrolandX Rides", "we", "us" or "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service.

2. Definitions

  • "Passenger" means a person who requests or receives a ride through the Service.
  • "Driver" or "Driver Partner" means a person who provides transportation services to Passengers through the Service.
  • "Ride" means a trip requested through the Service and provided by a Driver to a Passenger.
  • "App" means the AfrolandX Rides mobile application.
  • "Account" means a user profile registered on the Service.
  • "Content" means any text, image, or other material made available through the Service.
  • Other capitalised terms are defined where they appear in these Terms.

3. Use of the Service

You may use the Service only in compliance with these Terms and all applicable laws. You must be at least [Insert minimum age] years old to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.

4. Passenger responsibilities

As a Passenger, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when requesting a Ride, including your pickup location and destination;
  • Behave respectfully towards Drivers and their vehicles;
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations during a Ride;
  • Not engage in any conduct that endangers the Driver, other passengers or other road users;
  • Ensure that any minors travelling with you are properly supervised.

5. Driver responsibilities

As a Driver Partner, you agree to:

  • Maintain a valid driving licence, roadworthy vehicle and all required permits and insurance;
  • Complete all required verification steps to the standard set by AfrolandX Rides;
  • Provide transportation services in a safe, lawful and professional manner;
  • Treat Passengers with respect and without discrimination;
  • Comply with these Terms and with any additional driver policies published by AfrolandX Rides.

6. Ride requests

When a Passenger sets a pickup and destination, the App estimates route distance, duration and fare in Nigerian naira, then sends the request to an eligible nearby Driver. Once accepted, the Passenger can see driver and vehicle details, follow ride status, use ride chat and access available support tools. AfrolandX Rides operates the platform and facilitates the connection; the Driver provides the transportation service.

7. Cancellations

Passengers and Drivers may cancel an uncompleted ride through the App. Cancellation is recorded against the ride. Where a verified Paystack payment relates to a cancelled ride, the backend may request a refund; provider processing and verification requirements apply. See the Cancellation policy.

8. Payments & fare information

Fare information for a Ride is displayed in the App before the Passenger confirms the request. The configured fare is calculated from route distance and duration and displayed in Nigerian naira.

The App supports cash rides and Paystack electronic payments, including checkout and reusable card authorization where available. Paystack payments must be verified before the ride can proceed; full card details are handled by Paystack rather than stored in the App.

9. Prohibited conduct

The following conduct is prohibited on the Service and may result in suspension or termination of your Account:

  • Harassment, threats, abuse or discrimination of any kind;
  • Physical violence or the threat of physical violence;
  • Possession or use of illegal substances during a Ride;
  • Transporting illegal goods;
  • Damaging the vehicle or property of another user;
  • Any other conduct that AfrolandX Rides determines, acting reasonably, to be inappropriate.

10. Safety

AfrolandX Rides takes safety seriously. Practical safety guidance is available on our Safety page. Users must follow all applicable safety guidance and report any safety incident to AfrolandX Rides support as soon as possible.

In Nigeria, call 112 first in an emergency. The App's SOS alert and support tools do not replace emergency services.

11. Lost property

If a Passenger leaves an item in a vehicle, they should report it to AfrolandX Rides support as soon as possible. AfrolandX Rides will attempt to connect the Passenger with the relevant Driver, but cannot guarantee the recovery of lost items. The full process is set out in the Lost Property policy.

12. Complaints

Complaints about the Service should be raised through the Contact & Support page or by emailing support@afrolandx.com. The full complaints and dispute process is described in the Complaints policy.

13. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AfrolandX Rides' liability in connection with the Service is limited as set out in [Insert liability clause — must be finalised by legal counsel].

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Changes to the Service

AfrolandX Rides may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Where changes materially affect your rights under these Terms, we will provide reasonable notice through the App or by other appropriate means.

15. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we reasonably believe that continued access poses a risk to other users or to AfrolandX Rides. You may stop using the Service at any time.

16. Governing law

These Terms are intended to operate under the laws of Nigeria. The final governing-law clause and court jurisdiction must be confirmed by AfrolandX Rides' legal advisers before publication.
